West Hatch Animal Centre Rescue Cats
We re-home somewhere in the region of
500-600 Cats/Kittens every year.
If
you are a cat lover and interested in giving a cat or multiple cats a new home
then we would love you to visit us in the Cattery.
When you have had
a chat with one of staff and met and chosen your cat/s the normal re homing process
will apply.
If you are interested in
kittens please telephone the centre and we will explain the procedure. Please
only consider a kitten or pair of kittens if you have a suitable situation at
home. Kittens require a lot of time and can often need a bit of patience! If you
do not have as much time as a kitten would need but have a 'feline gap' in your
life, why not consider an adult, who will still be a wonderful companion but
will be a bit more independent?

ANTIFREEZE
A little known fact is that this is LETHAL to cats in very small doses, only a few laps and it is sweet and palatable to them!
IT HAS ALREADY KILLED MANY THIS YEAR. THERE APPEARS LITTLE HOPE AFTER THEY HAVE DRUNK
It appears that last winter many people put this into the pumps operating in their garden ponds. If you did please flush them through with fresh water and dispose safely of the waste. Don't kill the many cats now looking for fresh water during the heat of the day
Be sensible please!

Toys and
playtime are a really important part of your cat's life, and 'Play
Therapy' is now a widely accepted form of stress busting!
Whether the cat
in the cattery is a kitten or geriatric, we try to encourage all to
play, it helps calm them down, and enjoy their time.
Most younger
cats enjoy chasing a ball, especially rubber bouncy or ping pong ones,
but string toys and long feathers are especially successful, often
piquing the interest of even the grumpiest or nervous of cats!
When you take
your new cat home, as well as fuss, grooming and food, why not set aside
some time every day to spend playing with your cat. It's a great way to
get to know each other! |
